Job Description Summary

Position Objective:

Sr. Director of National Accounts, the position will be responsible for oversight and leadership of the sales teams and strategy within the National Account and Governmental space; devising strategy for growth and success within each; building and maintaining direct customer relationships, as appropriate; and liaising with sales and operational leadership to ensure operations function at the highest level of effectiveness, unique to each space. This role will service USA as well as maintain dialogue with Canada and UK teams as opportunities arise.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will include the direct management of the national strategic customer managers and governmental team. Responsibilities also include building and maintaining customer relationships and working as a liaison between customers, strategic teams and Sunbelt leadership.

  • Develop, implement, and execute on a worldclass National Accounts and governmental program. This program will be customized based upon the customer’s needs and provide overall value to their projects through the promotion of the Power of Sunbelt ultimately leading to a partnership relationship with Sunbelt Rentals.

  • Cultivate, develop, and manage a team with long term growth in mind.

  • Collaborate with field operational and sales leadership regarding overall performance of projects, execution of contracts, dispute management, strategy, planning of sales coverage for the national and governmental accounts to maximize sales experience, etc.

  • Develop organizational structure to achieve growth and revenue objectives.

  • Key communicator in cascading updates and strategy across the company.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Business Acumen

  • Strategically design and implement operational and sales-driven excellence to deliver business results.

  • Execute plans within the market to achieve maximum sales and profit potential.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans, consistent with and appropriate to the accomplishment of long range established objectives.

  • Recognize and capitalize on industry and market trends.

  • Management of compensation plans.

Customer Service

  • Ensure customers receive exceptional service by partnering with all levels of management and support staff to resolve issues and identify opportunities.

Leadership

  • Coach regional sales directors and regional VPs in the creation and implementation of their development plans to build leadership pipelines.

  • Ensure the management team and staff have the appropriate direction needed to perform their roles effectively and create a culture of growth.

  • Ensure coordinated leadership and consistency between districts and regions to provide the customer a consistent experience across all lines of business .

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business / m arketing or related field or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 15 years of experience managing on the regional or district level, including at least 5 years of leadership experience .

  • Proven track record of profit and loss accountability .

  • Excellent leadership, motivational and organizational skills .

  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop subordinates.

  • Must be able to motivate, inspire and achieve results through others.

  • Effective communications skills .

  • Proven ability to drive results in a manner that is consistent with Sunbelt values and goals.

  • Advanced knowledge of the construction industry preferred.

  • 5-10 years’ experience selling in the equipment industry at the general management and executive levels . ( E xperience in the heavy industrial, manufacturing, facility maintenance fields. Previous rental industry experience a plus . )

  • Travel 75%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to sell at multiple levels of the customer’s hierarchy

  • Experience working with large National Accounts

  • Professional level knowledge of principles and practices involved in new business development, product marketing and sales, including experience developing business plans .

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $113,754.55 - 192,507.70
