The Sr Database Administrator shares responsibilities of identification, specification, creation and ongoing management of databases and all supporting software. Works closely with other team members, vendors, Internal IT groups and business departments to identify business project requirements; design the solution and to create and implement the appropriate databases and software to support the business project initiatives. Active team member with the creation of future strategies and processes. Provides proactive support and monitoring to ensure data and operational integrity is maintained. Ensures all Service Level Agreements are met including SOX auditing requirements. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who enjoys the challenge of learning new emerging technologies in a fast-paced environment.
- Administer, create and manage all aspects of the database environments with focus on database creation, tuning, management and continuous operations.
- Ensure all monitoring and dashboards and processes are in place to meet SLAs. Work closely with internal and external security/auditing to ensure all appropriate controls are in place. This includes SOX and internal change control requirements.
- Active member of project teams in the evaluation, design, acquisition, testing and implementation of new databases, business software and associated infrastructure to implement new major project initiatives.
- Major contributor with the creation of future strategies and directions
- Display mature judgment and troubleshooting skills to research issues, provide solutions, and communicate them concisely. Works independently managing one’s own workload, based on priority defined by management.
- Maintains database software currency by researching, testing and implementing vendor patches/releases. Participate in technology forums and industry user groups

- Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, MIS, required
- 5-7 years of in-depth experience with Database technologies and practices with absolute requirement for Oracle (11G, 12C) Oracle Clustering (RAC) and secondary on SQL Server (2008, 2012).
- Experience with data warehousing concepts, advanced tuning and implementation including associated O/S and hardware, required
- Experience/exposure with applications tier technologies like Apache, WebLogic, clustering.
- Working knowledge of network protocols and Disk technologies
- Experience with database architecture design and proposals
- Experience with solutions such as EXADATA, Hadoop, Big Data concepts and appliances

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. *The target annual bonus for this role is 10% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
