This position can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada, with trips to the local office, when needed/as required.
Purpose of the Role:
As the Senior Director Commercial - Execution (Post-Award), Global Project Delivery at Worley, you play a vital role in providing governance, oversight, assurance and dispute/claims management for projects designated as Major Projects, which are generally the largest projects with the highest risk that Worley undertakes. Acting in accordance with the Commercial, Project Delivery responsibility and accountability framework, your role is instrumental in driving Worley's commitment to delivering a more sustainable world. You will lead and support various initiatives, contributing to the company's ambition of being recognized globally as a leader in sustainability solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Commercial Consultation and Oversight:
- Collaborate with sub-region/location commercial leads, P&L owners, and Senior Vice Presidents for Major Projects to provide consultation on all commercial aspects of designated projects.
- Monitor and provide governance/oversight on commercial aspects, ensuring adherence to commercial management processes, standards, and procedures
- Project Reviews and Analysis:
- Participate in project reviews, particularly Worley Project Reviews, to analyze project performance and identify adverse commercial trends or enhancement opportunities.
- Undertake specific ad-hoc / additional reviews of projects as requested or directed by the Senior Vice President, Project and Business Management and/or Senior Vice President(s), Major Projects, APAC, EMEA, AMERICAS.
- Dispute Resolution, Claim Prevention and Defense:
- Lead and/or provide support to mitigate/avoid project customer disputes.
- Lead and support claim prevention and defense activities, contributing to Worley's promise of being a straight-talking partner for sustainable transformation.
- Support for Proposals and Change Requests:
- Support project teams in preparing major change requests for Major Projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
- Provide commercial support for Major Project proposals as directed, ensuring seamless proposal handovers and successful commercial start-ups.
- Analysis and Improvement Initiatives:
- Analyze project performance, information, and data to identify systemic commercial issues, driving continuous improvement.
- Identify potential improvements to the Worley commercial management business process map and implement improvements in collaboration with key groups.
- Training and Development:
- Develop, maintain, and issue commercial training material for the use and implementation of operating locations, contributing to Worley's commitment to skill development.
- University Degree or equivalent in related field or applicable discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- Significant and relevant broad management experience, including commercial management roles.
- Experience in all project scopes and contracting regimes, but specifically in Fabrication, Construction, EPC & EPCM, FEED and engineering.
- Experience in Mega Projects with TIC > $1.0BN AUD.
- Experience in prime contract commercial management, /contractual disputes, claims and negotiations with customers.
- May have a professional body qualification/registration.
