Job Summary

 

Analyzes retail sales data and channel activity to identify market trends and opportunities. Interprets data to offer recommendations for the development of channel marketing strategies. Leads large projects and a direct report to drive incremental revenue and margin growth.  Develops new product and promotional tools to develop customer categories. Creates analyses to manage existing business and identify margin improvements.  Develops sales forecasting reports. 

 

Essential Job Functions *

 

  • Leads: Leads two to three specific categories and channels, partnering cross functionally to meet business objectives.
  • Is the go-to expert to creatively resolve problems.
  • Channel Support: Participates in the development and delivery of customer presentations, line reviews and new program opportunities. Focus on creating promotional opportunities for sales organization.
  • Marketing Liaison/Support: Communicates regularly with the Sales staff to provide information, answer questions, and assist with issues within the retail channel. Project management for customer tasks is routine for this position.
  • Market Plan Development/Management: Develops, implements, and monitors marketing plans and promotions to ensure the achievement of objectives.
  • Market Research: Coordinates ongoing market and competitive research to identify consumer needs as well as understand the changes in the industry to improve the company's position in the marketplace.
  • Establishes and oversees effective pricing strategies, using market-based pricing analysis.
  • Business Acumen: Recommends solutions that result in positive margin and revenue impact. Has a solid understanding of profit and loss statements and key sales metrics to drive profit growth.
  • Summarizes key financial information for decisions based on analytical insights

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Six years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Five years related experience in retail distribution channels
  • Knowledge of the hardware industry is strongly recommended
