Sr. Cell Materials Engineer, Cathode

Battery Cells are the common denominator for every Tesla product. Our product requirements demand ground-up cell architectures with state-of-the-art performance, manufactured at volumes that are orders of magnitude higher than the products they power. Our team is heavily focused on cell electrolyte and active materials selection, validation, and qualification. Your responsibility will be spearheading cross-functional team validation efforts of our cathode precursor materials. This includes developing new material and electrochemical tests to accelerate qualification time and bring our team’s expertise in materials and electrochemical data interpretation to the next level.

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in cell materials engineering, cellqualification, and cell testing
• Experience working with cathode materials from raw materialto final product strongly desired. LFP experience is a plus
• Knowledge of the intricacies of the chemical interplaybetween anode, cathode, and electrolyte
• Knowledge of the interplay between material and electrodelevel properties (anode, cathode, electrolyte) and cell level properties andhow they affect electrochemical signals
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A great analytical mind and strong project management skills
