The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst in the Global Planning & Demand Management team is responsible for developing analytics solutions to support the enterprise Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) community.

This position has a depth of knowledge in quantitative analytic methods, data management, and or associated digital technologies suitable to handle the most complex issues. Challenges include meeting expectations in delivering results, learning to refine solutions to better fit complex situations, making timely decisions, ensuring the quality of deliverables, and communicating effectively with all project stakeholders. 

What you will do:

• Support Caterpillar enterprise Sales and Operations planning efforts by developing data-driven analytics solutions like reports, visualizations, and automated alerts to customers.

• Work with business partners to understand informational needs, gather requirements, and dive into data to create insights, ultimately driving sound business decisions.

• Develop tools and pipelines to efficiently collect, clean, and prepare massive volumes of data for analysis.

• Utilize Snowflake to prepare data using ETL framework for building reports.

• Use data quality best practices to ensure the integrity of the data being used and the thoroughness of results.

• Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy automated analytics solutions in production.

• Minimize technical debt and focus on reproducibility (keep docs/code up to date, prepare for future use cases, etc.) and automation of reports by building end-to-end pipelines.

• Present insights and data analytics strategies to senior leadership.

• Leverage business acumen to recognize new opportunities for analytics to improve the Sales & Operations planning process.

What Skills you will have:

Business Data Analysis: Extensive experience with Power BI (Power Query, DAX expressions, Power BI Row-level security (RLS), Power BI Gateway), and SQL. Strong working knowledge of Snowflake cloud data warehouse and Snow SQL.

Requirements Analysis: Experience performing data analysis, data modeling, database development, and reports/visualization development in support of BI projects.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Top Candidates will also have:

Experience in databases such as Oracle.

Self-starter with the ability to learn, adapt, improvise, and problem-solve with poise in a rapidly changing environment.

Exhibit strong planning and organization, excellent initiative, the ability to delegate tasks effectively, and well-honed interpersonal and leadership skills.

Strong team player and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require up to 10% travel.
