We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join our Moody’s Ratings Data Engineering team and play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-based data infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and efficient data pipelines, enabling seamless data ingestion, transformation, and processing.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines on AWS using services like AWS Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, and EMR.
• Develop and optimize efficient data processing workflows using Python and SQL.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data sources.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and provide optimized data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across various stages of the data pipeline.
• Implement best practices for data governance, monitoring, and automation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues, optimizing performance and reliability.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
• 8-10 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering roles
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data manipulation and processing
• Solid understanding of AWS data services (e.g., Glue, Kinesis, Athena, Redshift, S3, EMR)
• Experience with data modeling and database design (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty)
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop)
• Knowledge of data streaming and real-time data processing
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
• Understanding of machine learning and AI concepts

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $112,000.00 – $162,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
