The Senior Analyst, Procurement Strategy & Innovation, will play an integral role in helping the company achieve its ambition by ensuring that Newell Brands is leveraging scientific methods and analytics to drive Enterprise Procurement improvements. Reporting to the Associate Manager, Procurement Strategy & Innovation - Data Science & Analytics within the Newell Enterprise Strategic Sourcing team. This individual will engage with Newell Procurement teams globally and provide up-front competitive intelligence to help bridge vendor resources across categories and business units by leveraging internal and external data.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished professional applying statistical and operational research techniques within a business environment. Candidate must also demonstrate the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business partners in the Procurement, Supply Chain and Finance communities.
Responsibilities
- Develop / co-develop business requirements for a procurement data repository to consolidate multiple ERP data sources into a comprehensive source for analytics review and output.
- Partner within the procurement organization on the development and implementation of algorithms required to extract and cleanse data into the Procurement data repository.
- Develop and implement diagnostic tools to be used as a resource to the procurement teams to identify performance opportunities and root cause for action planning.
- Develop and implement optimization programs to improve planning outputs for procurement operations.
- Contribute to the development of enterprise data infrastructure to extract, transform, load, and model terabytes of raw system data.
- Work within Newell to co-develop and implement machine learning and optimization programs to improve planning outputs (for example, inventory builds / losses, warranty insights / return rates and related data that can be shared with internal stakeholders for improved supplier execution.
- Partner with Supply Chain to co-develop a comprehensive vendor repository tool that enhances vendor communications and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering or related field
- Master's Degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering or related field preferred
- 2+ years' experience developing and applying optimization programs in a business environment.
- Expert level SQL skills with demonstrated experience with large data sets.
- Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, Qlik Sense, etc., deploying BI tools at scale.
- Intermediate experience in open-source programming languages (R/Python)
