We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to play an integral role in our general accounting operations.

Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to maintain the general ledger accurately. We are seeking a self-starter and someone who can be self-sufficient and a quick thinker.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Reconcile and audit balance sheet accounts for accuracy
• Keep accounting schedules updated and book corresponding journal entries
• Accrued PTO
• Deferred Revenue
• Contracts Receivable
• Prepaid Expenses
• Fixed Assets
• Software Amortization Schedule
• Debt and LOC Schedules
• Assist with balance sheet and income statement review and audit
• Assist with payroll reporting and review
• Complete payroll general ledger entries and reconciliations
• Calculate monthly commissions
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Provide input into department's goal setting process
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and budgets
• Manage state tax accounts and make updates to payroll system as needed
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Regularly review and update department policy and procedure documents
• Uphold and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with GAAP
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant
• 3+ years of experience.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required

Pay Range: $55,000-$80,000.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
