FreedomPay is experiencing explosive growth and is looking for a high caliber database and ETL developer to help us build and maintain our data movement (ETL), visualization (reporting), and database development.

 

This role is with FreedomPay's small but exciting Database Engineering team. This team of data engineers design, build, and maintain all data-related aspects of our products directly or through collaboration with other development teams. This work includes design, creation, and maintenance of Data Structures, Database Objects, ETL processes and reporting visualizations. The primary technology stack runs on the Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and 2019 stacks.

 

In this role, you will collaborate with team members to design, create, and maintain Stored Procedures, ETL packages that are developed with SQL Server Integration Services and reports built through SQL Server Reporting Services. You will work independently and in small teams building SQL Server database objects and processes that support all of FreedomPay's products. 

Position Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline; or, 6-years equivalent work experience
• At least a BS/BA Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a SQL Developer/Engineer
• Experience working within an AGILE Scrum software development environment
• Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills in the English language
• Strong understanding of current Microsoft development technologies
• Strong English reading and writing communication skills, with an ability to express and understand complex technical concepts. As other languages are a requirement, that will be explicitly noted during the recruitment process.

• Provide expertise in software usage, functionality, performance, security, aesthetics, resilience, reuse, comprehensibility, and economic and technological tradeoffs. 

Skills:

• Mastery of relational database concepts including but not limited to tables, keys, indexes, etc.
• Five or more years of experience developing the full range of objects in Microsoft SQL 2016 (or better) databases using SQL and T-SQL
• Four or more years of experience creating and maintaining ETL packages with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); At least one year of experience SSIS with SQL Server 2016 (or better) preferred
• Three or more years of experience creating and maintaining ETL routines with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• SSIS: Parameters, variables, expressions, parallelism, data flow development, export and import feeds to either OLTP or OLAP systems
• SSRS: Drill down, graphs, expressions, parameters, solution/project organization, data sets
• SQL/T-SQL: Can construct queries, DML and DDL statements that perform on large multi-terabyte databases.
• Two or more years collaborating with team members on SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS performance tuning problems to resolution
• Working knowledge of deployments utilizing Database Projects, MS-ISPACs and DACPACs preferred
• Basic C# applied (non-academic) programming experience knowledge a plus
• Familiarity or experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory is a plus
• Experience with version control, preferably GIT
• Experience with work management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
• Experienced with troubleshooting complex problems
• Proficient in SDLC process and able to follow through the lifecycle of a process
• Self-motivated
• Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels
• Presents ideas clearly in written and verbal communication
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt work processes to adhere with best practices
