Hourly Wage:
The hourly wage for this position traditionally starts at $16.24/hour.
Role Overview:
You will work alongside the Tobacco Epidemiologist and will primarily focus on aiding with implementation of the 2024 Indiana Youth Tobacco Survey (IYTS) and implementation of the 2024 Tobacco Retailer POST assessment. The IYTS is an electronic-based survey administered throughout Indiana to a sample of high school and middle schools and is comprised of questions focusing on tobacco product use and cessation, brand preference, exposure to tobacco advertising, attitudes and beliefs related to tobacco and secondhand smoke exposure. The data from this survey is used to assess progress toward long-term, intermediate, and short-term objectives, with the most recent year of data (2022) helping to inform an initiative supported by the Governor's office and IDOH administration. The Tobacco Retailer POST assessment is administered across the state and provides insights into tobacco product availability and placement as well as addressing the healthy retailer landscape. Additional responsibilities include tracking Quitline user data while maintaining internal data dashboards and other projects as availability allows.

Current/Active college student.
Knowledge of public health principles and practices
Considerable knowledge and competence in using software applications including Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
Ability to work cooperatively with staff and representatives of partner agencies
Ability to prepare written communications materials
Ability to work independently
Preferred: Experience in web-based survey development, including platforms such as RedCap and SurveyMonkey
Preferred: Experience in the use of statistical software for data analysis; working knowledge of SAS

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period
