*If you are a PSCC Student and eligible for the Student Employment Program, you will be paid on experience and the rates are $13.00 (no experience), $14.00 (6 months experience) and $15.00 (9 months experience)*.
Work Hours: 30 hours per week
Position Summary: The overall purpose of the Sports Information Manager is to document and to publicize the accomplishments of the PSCC Athletics Program and its respective teams and athletes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
40% - The Sports Information Manager will be responsible for maintaining the content of the Athletics website to include - articles, pictures, stats, etc.. Will also establish streaming of sports per NJCAA/Region 7 policy.
35%- Develop and monitor social media sites to deliver the proper message to fans, recruits, supporters, etc. of the Athletic program and media. Manages the sport-specific accounts or works with program staff to develop a plan together for coverage.
15%- Works game day, as assigned, to coordinate all media outlets, press row personnel, and appropriate exposure on the internet, radio, TV and social media. Following game day uploads stats and results into NJCAA-approved software.
10%- Develop effective working relationships with local, regional, and national media covering Pellissippi State athletic events/competitions; and coordinate with the Marketing and Communications department on a press releases and/or a strategic communications plan (examples include the addition of sports, the hiring of coaches, and any awards or honors the College's coaches or student-athletes receive.)

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or sport management.
(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)
Years of Experience/Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:
1 year on the job experience or internships/assistantships in sports media field.
Skills/Abilities:
Communications, writing, organization, knowledge of sports/statistics, best social media practices, knowledge of live-streaming, graphic design.
