Job Summary and Qualifications
The Platform Engineer Manager role is a great opportunity for anyone passionate about leadership, coaching, mentoring, technology and innovation looking to join a highly collaborative, team oriented organization. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with Parallon IT and Business Teams, HCA Healthcare ITG leaders, project managers, architects, and other technical teams for delivering products and services to meet their needs while adhering to industry best practices and HCA Healthcare Policies and Guidelines.
As a member of the Parallon IT Leadership Team, the Platform Engineer Manager reports to the Director and is charged to understand the goals/objectives of the team, and to provide clear leadership and coaching to ensure that all members of the team understand their roles/responsibilities and are positioned for success.
You will work closely with various areas of the enterprise to define and empower the delivery of cloud services, Innersource opportunities and solutions, focusing on infrastructure as code (IAC) across a multi-tiered, multi cloud strategy. These responsibilities require the candidate to have a deep understanding of:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a rigorous technology architecture, leveraging cloud services and automation to enable business strategies and ensure public cloud solutions are optimized for cost and functionality.
Develop and drives the cloud computing strategy along with the introduction of new emerging technologies and public cloud services, cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring strategies
Ensures all technical leaders have architected resilient and robust systems. May oversee technology assessments, technology strategy reviews, and provide internal consulting to ensure all areas are practicing sound architecture hygiene.
Partner with Parallon’s ARC team and assess new projects and technologies while creating and socializing standards, best practices across Parallon. Participates in product design sessions and aligns with Parallon’s overall product develop best practices.
Works with Executive Leadership to develop short- and long-range product and service strategies and plans.
Execute against Parallon-wide, cross-functional cloud initiatives
Translates complex ideas, technology, and programs into language executive leadership can relate to and performs as a key influencer on technical decisions that affect the business on a long-term basis.
Collaborate and design the development of metrics and scorecards to influence the technology teams on industry best practices for cloud development.
Collaborates with Architecture and Cloud Center of Excellence in defining technology strategy and roadmaps.
Performs as an idea generator, working with others as a thought leader and subject- matter expert to help brainstorm new processes and solutions.
Works with upper leadership to develop short- and long-range product and service strategies and plans. Oversees the execution of operating plans for specified area of responsibility.
Reviews the competitive marketplace and makes adjustments to operational activities based

What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree - Required
EXPERIENCE
5 or more years of experience in Software Engineering - Required
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience could be considered
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Cloud Certification - Required
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Skill in utilizing GitHub repositories as code repositories and version control
Cloud Certification Required or 3or more years related experience – GCP or Azure
Minimum of 1 year experience as a team lead or leadership role.
Experience with multiple public cloud platforms
Ability to lead and motivate highly skilled engineers
Knowledge of frameworks and software design patterns used for implementing software solutions
Ability to teach other team members and other external individuals
Assists with alignment of new technologies to Parallon’s strategic roadmap
Understanding what is possible through cloud platforms and be able to identify which is best suited for use cases
Strong Communication Skills
Strong experience in Core background spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
Knowledge of all components of technical architecture
Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
TRAVEL REQUIRED
Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
