Iron Peak is currently recruiting experienced Sports Coaches in Basketball, Volleyball, Flag Football, Soccer, Futsal, Field Hockey, Baseball/Softball, Lacrosse, Rugby, Climbing, Martial Arts, Gymnastics, SAQ, and Cricket.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Sports Instructors will lead the facility's youth (and some adult) sports offerings, including, but not limited to: Leagues, Developmental Classes (ages 3-8), After-School/Home School programs, Clinics, Camps, Private/Semi-Private Trainings, Sports Performance Sessions, and Birthday Parties.

Coaching at Iron Peak requires a demonstrated ability to motivate and direct young players. Applicants should be able to construct, articulate, and execute proper sessions and deliver curriculum in line with organizational philosophy. NOTE: Candidates must not currently be employed with a competing venue or partner organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Teaching relevant skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes, individuals and group
• Monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing athlete performance and needs.
• Providing suitable feedback via positivity, encouragement, example, and motivation
• Demonstrating an activity clearly by breaking down the task or technique into a sequence
• Friendly and courteous with athletes, parents, and Iron Peak team members
• Identifying athlete strengths and areas for development
• Ensuring a safe environment for all athletes
• Implementing the curriculum in an accurate, creative, positive, and efficient fashion

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Coaching licenses (or active pursuit of) preferred
• Familiarity with contemporary coaching methodology
• Neat in appearance and professional in manner and communication
• Inspiring confidence and self-belief

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• At least 2 years of appropriate coaching/teaching sport in youth programs for athletes of various aptitudes
• Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekends
• Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified period

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to move or lift lightweight equipment.
• Position requires standing and activity for extended periods of time (indoors or outdoors), squatting, stooping, jogging, or bending into awkward positions while performing job functions.
