Salary: $57/hr
Position Overview:
As a Speech Therapist at Victoria Crossing Rehabilitation Center, you'll play a crucial role in improving the lives of our residents by organizing and conducting speech/language programs to aid in their rehabilitation. Your mission is to restore, reinforce, and enhance essential communication and swallowing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the acquisition of adaptive communication devices and provide instruction to residents on their use.
- Tailor activities to individual residents, considering their physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interests.
- Consult with fellow members of the rehabilitation team to select the most suitable therapeutic regimen for each resident's unique needs and capabilities.
- Instruct residents in the skills and techniques necessary for participating in activities and regularly assess their progress, attitudes, and behavior in relation to rehabilitative potential.
- Adapt programs to cater to the evolving needs of individual residents.
- Actively participate in resident care, staffing, and relevant meetings.
- Lead training programs and contribute to training medical, nursing, and other personnel in speech therapy techniques and objectives.
- Provide supervision to support personnel in alignment with state and professional standards.
- Ensure that our residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a compassionate atmosphere that respects individual needs and rights.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Speech-Language curriculum certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as required in Florida.
- Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
