We are currently seeking a dynamic Specimen Accessioning Process Analyst who will work as part of a team of external and internal parties including health care professionals and field-based sales representatives to join our team in Hicksville.
The candidate should perferably have prior experience as a Specimen Accessioner.
The specimen accessioning process analyst's primary responsibilities are to:
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for our internal laboratory information system (LIS). The individual will be trained on usage of key functions and will take on the responsibilities to (a) set up new test panels on the LIS (b) set up new organizations on the LIS (c) troubleshoot communication between the LIS and other system. While the analyst will manage the key laboratory system, prior technical experience is not required. We seek an individual who is generally technology savvy and has a willingness to learn.
- Accession new samples as part of the accessioning team's primary daily function. We expect that anywhere from 50% to 75% of the role will entail the routine accessioning of new samples that are received by the laboratory.
Management of our laboratory information system:
- A critical part of this function is the management of our laboratory information system. We do not require prior technical experience but we seek an individual who is generally technology savvy and has a strong interest in learning and mastering the laboratory information system.
Accessioning of samples:
- Identifying problems with specimen types, missing information and assigning the issue to the appropriate ancillary department or in some cases resolving them.
- This is a multi-discipline position with 3 primary components: specimen accessioning, sample splitting/sorting and data entry. Prepares laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing and routes specimens by type to various staging areas.
- Performs all paperwork, technical and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens. Assigns specific computer generated identification numbers, checks for accuracy and records all items processed.
- Operates data entry terminals and automated data systems, follows standard sequences/coding when entering data and corrects, edits, and/or verifies data entered into automated systems.
Must be able to perform audits to resolve any outstanding problems.
Additional Duties:
Must be able to perform quality control audits by utilizing multiple laboratory information systems.
- Demonstrating an understanding of compliance policies related to test ordering, test requirements and rejection criteria.
- Tracking internal and external errors and reporting deficiencies per protocols.
- Preparing month-end reports
- Oversight of timely, electronic requisition storage
- Adhering to company values, safety and compliance policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the development of SOPs to meet client satisfaction in all areas of responsibility.
- Working with management team to develop strategic plans to meet commercial goals and objectives.
- Performing all other assigned duties as directed by supervisor.
Salary Range:
- $16.00 - $17.00
