SalaryJob Summary:
Under close supervision, coordinate the opening and labeling of all incoming specimens on a daily basis.
Examples of Essential Functions:
1. Open all incoming specimen containers. Verify and document number of specimens received on shipping documents.
2. Attach and match all patient information to the requisition.
3. Color code requisitions according to route.
4. Use laboratory information system to create a daily log of all specimens received.
5. Complete labeling of patient requisitions and bottles.
6. Complete stamping of date and time entered.
7. Follows proper procedures with specimen rejection if the submitted information is incorrect.
8. Coordinate completed work with laboratory personnel to maintain efficient workflow.
9. Maintain all logs to document and track specimens received.
10. Perform other duties as requested, including data entry support.
11. Adherence to Safety Regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
