Job Description:
Production Planning converts engineering drawings into work instructions and bills of materials driving procurement, shop fabrication, assembly, and HDL installation. Plans, prepares, handles issues, controls production schedules, and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. In this role the candidate will be responsible for providing detailed assembly and installation instruction for the Manufacturing shops Hangar aircraft installations.
Essential Functions:
- Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
- Work interdepartmentally to resolve Bills of Materials issues and Work Instruction interpretation.
- Conceptual design of the manufacturing process.
- Analyze the product and design a method to produce that product efficiently
- Continuous improvement and elimination of waste through ongoing analysis and identification of inefficiencies within the system
- Working with manufacturing staff to train on new equipment or optimization processes
- Help with troubleshooting of problems within the manufacturing process
- May prepare work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
- Coordinate activity with quality assurance; manufacturing; purchasing; engineering; inventory control; hangar dock and line, etc.
- Communicate back to Program Planners concerns and ideas from Manufacturing and HDL install teams.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Position requires the ability and willingness to support any shift.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which requires US citizenship.
