Technology Aspect
To establish a clear duty of care, Stellar Virtual and its affiliates require all employees to cover the costs associated with acquiring and providing the equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) associated with virtual employment.
Position Overview
The Special Programs Review Specialist for ESL is responsible for collecting and maintaining all required enrollment records to verify services for English as a Second Language (ESL) students. The clerk will work closely with the ESL Program Coordinator to ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate, prior to approval.
Essential Position Functions
- Collect and maintain enrollment records for ESL students, including language proficiency assessments, home language surveys, and other required documentation for approval.
- Coordinate with previous school districts to gather missing records
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding ESL program requirements and services.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
- Participate in establishing and maintaining a positive school climate.
- Effective communication with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Understand and support the Stellar Virtual mission and values.
- Assist with In-Person State Testing during testing seasons, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Experience in working with students, parents, and educational agencies.
- Background in student enrollment, academic advising, and related fields.
- ESL Clerk or Coordinator experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience using internet search engines for research projects and training
- Proficiency in using a student information system and/or other types of databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Zoom, Google Workspace, PEIMS, LMS, MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
- Proficient in reading required ESL/EB/ELL/Former/Monitored records and related documentation
Education & Certification Requirements
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, or a related field.
