Technology Aspect

Position Overview

The Special Programs Review Specialist for ESL is responsible for collecting and maintaining all required enrollment records to verify services for English as a Second Language (ESL) students. The clerk will work closely with the ESL Program Coordinator to ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate, prior to approval.

Essential Position Functions

• Collect and maintain enrollment records for ESL students, including language proficiency assessments, home language surveys, and other required documentation for approval.
• Coordinate with previous school districts to gather missing records
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding ESL program requirements and services.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Participate in establishing and maintaining a positive school climate.
• Effective communication with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Understand and support the Stellar Virtual mission and values.
• Assist with In-Person State Testing during testing seasons, as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Experience in working with students, parents, and educational agencies.
• Background in student enrollment, academic advising, and related fields.
• ESL Clerk or Coordinator experience preferred
• Bilingual preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience using internet search engines for research projects and training
• Proficiency in using a student information system and/or other types of databases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Zoom, Google Workspace, PEIMS, LMS, MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
• Proficient in reading required ESL/EB/ELL/Former/Monitored records and related documentation

Education & Certification Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, or a related field.
