Special Education Clerk (Sy23-24)

What You’ll Do

As a Special Education Clerk at Veritas Prep, you’ll provide administrative support to the Special Education team, managing documentation, scheduling, and compliance at both the middle and high school campuses.

You’ll also:

• Maintain student records and reports, ensuring they are organized, updated, accurate and meet all Special Education compliance and confidentiality standards
• Manage, audit, and update student information and records in student information systems
• Communicate with families whose students receive Special Education services, informing them of important upcoming dates, meetings, etc. and responding to inquiries about the Special Education program and services
• Schedule student testing with internal and external service providers
• Schedule IEP meetings with families, teachers, students, and other stakeholders
• Prepare reports and fulfill records requests
• Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator to ensure program compliance and compile data and information for state reporting
• Other duties as assigned by your manager

• Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills
• Knowledge of Special Education compliance (preferred)
• Proficiency in Spanish (preferred)
• A dedication to fighting racism in our educational institutions and in daily life and knowledge of the history of race and racism, as well as the systems of oppression our students face
• One to two years of experience working with children and/or families in an academic environment
• Associate’s degree (preferred)
• Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment
