Massasoit currently offers 41 associate degree programs in arts, sciences, and applied sciences and 24 certificates. Job Description:
The Academic Resource Center (ARC) at Massasoit Community College's Brockton campus provides an array of tutoring, accessibility, and additional academic support services to Massasoit students. The PT Clerical Assistant will provide administrative support for the department, conducting courteous visitor reception, and performing tasks to support department operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service to all constituencies (students, staff, faculty, community members)
- Assist students to make tutoring appointments utilizing the Navigate software system
- Ensure that tutors and staff are aware of updates to their appointment schedules
- Schedule appointments for students with Access and Disability Resources staff
- Communicate with Administrative Assistant, ARC Director, Tutoring Coordinators and Access and Disability Resources staff to resolve operational or programmatic issues
- Respond to telephone, email and in-person inquiries
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Assist with data entry for record keeping purposes
- Copy, file, scan materials
- Refer students to other campus resources as needed
- Perform other related duties as needed to support the department's goals
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, organizational and administrative skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to community college mission
- Knowledge/skill using Microsoft Office applications and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree
- Understanding of confidentiality parameters
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Familiarity with student information systems preferred
Additional Information:
Part-time. Non-benefitted, non-unit position
Hours: 12-24 hours per week, schedule will vary as needed, with more hours worked during the Fall/Spring semesters (not to exceed 936 hours annually); hours will generally fall within Mon.-Thurs 1:00pm-6:00pm, and Sat 10:00am-2:00pm
Salary: $17.25 per hour
