Spaceflight Systems Engineer

We are seeking a talented, experienced Systems Engineer to help define the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to requirements development, decomposition and traceability to ensure customer requirements are satisfied
• Participate in program level V&V team through successful planning and execution of validation and verification
• Provide Systems Engineering support to technical teams in the development, documentation, build, test, and verification of subsystems, payloads, vehicles, and ground systems
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand program requirements and ensure strong, continued communications throughout the lifecycle of the mission
• Support test plan development and creation in support of V&V activities
• Support other Systems Engineering tasks such as ConOps development, and interface definition between teams
• Support system and lower-level requirements management, including change control, audits, and coordination with other teams
• Leverage Systems Engineering tools, processes, and best practices to validate and verify the system

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in using requirements database tools (e.g. DOORS, Jama, Cameo Requirements Modeler)
• Demonstrated ability to create and review effective and verifiable requirements
• Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering processes, including requirements development, requirement allocation, interface management, change management, verification and validation
• Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience across all technical disciplines of a space system
• Strong understanding of fundamental test and evaluation processes
• Experience with NASA or DoD Systems Engineering practices and expectations
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• U.S. Person

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo or others
• Experience delivering a system through the entire product lifecycle, from program kickoff through delivery
• Experience with autonomous software systems
