Job description

Join our dynamic team at our Fast Casual breakfast and lunch venue as a Sous Chef. We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to assist in the culinary operations of our New Store Opening. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mexican cuisine, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional food and guest experiences. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
  • Execute food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established recipes and guidelines, maintaining consistency and excellence.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on culinary techniques, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef on menu development, including the creation of new dishes and seasonal specials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and participate in ordering to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, upholding food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and mutual respect among kitchen staff.
  • Provide input and feedback on kitchen operations and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with the Toast POS system is preferred, with the ability to utilize it for order management and inventory tracking.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a culinary role, with a focus on Fast Casual dining or similar environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mexican cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques is essential.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality food and service.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
  • Experience with menu development and recipe creation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with kitchen management software and POS systems, particularly Toast, is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
