Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Execute food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established recipes and guidelines, maintaining consistency and excellence.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on culinary techniques, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef on menu development, including the creation of new dishes and seasonal specials.
- Monitor inventory levels and participate in ordering to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, upholding food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and mutual respect among kitchen staff.
- Provide input and feedback on kitchen operations and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Familiarity with the Toast POS system is preferred, with the ability to utilize it for order management and inventory tracking.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a culinary role, with a focus on Fast Casual dining or similar environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Mexican cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques is essential.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive attitude and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality food and service.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
- Experience with menu development and recipe creation is a plus.
- Familiarity with kitchen management software and POS systems, particularly Toast, is advantageous.
