In this vital role you will directly be at the forefront of driving strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple categories within Research and Development. As a key individual contributor, you will leverage your expertise to identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective sourcing solutions that support our ambitious goals. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth market analysis, developing sourcing strategies, and managing supplier relationships to achieve optimal terms and performance. You will play a crucial role in influencing procurement decisions, optimizing costs, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our sourcing processes.
As a Sourcing Excellence Senior Manageryou will:
Deliver with Speed: Possess the ability to quickly analyze situations, make informed decisions, and implement solutions efficiently, demonstrating leadership through action.
Drive the delivery of strategic sourcing results: Be directly accountable for achieving results through in-depth analysis, strategy development, and effective completion of sourcing processes.
Support the development of global sourcing programs: Work closely with GSS senior leadership to contribute to the design and implementation of broad global sourcing strategies and initiatives.
Be a thought partner and actively challenge work, to deploy the most comprehensive and creative solutions
Navigate Ambiguity: Adapt and thrive in changing environments, you use your expertise to guide decision-making processes, ensuring strategic alignment with our organizational goals.
Provide innovative solutions: Act as a key contributor and thought partner by offering comprehensive and creative solutions to improve sourcing effectiveness and efficiency, applying your expertise to overcome challenges and barriers.
Drive end-to-end sourcing processes: Take ownership of the entire sourcing lifecycle, from RFx development through contract negotiation and delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Foster strategic partnerships: Collaborate closely with internal customers and suppliers to ensure sourcing strategies meet organizational needs and objectives, and to build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
Proactive Engagement: communicate and collaborate with customers across the organization, sharing insights and influencing outcomes through your expert knowledge and strategic perspective.
Support the alignment of category strategies: Work to ensure that the implementation of category strategies aligns with the needs and requirements of various organizational entities, from regional to global scales.
Implement sourcing strategies with a focus on excellence: Lead and complete key initiatives, emphasizing a continuous improvement approach and employing clear project planning and management practices.
Monitor and report on strategic sourcing initiatives: Tracks progress/outcome of strategic sourcing initiatives by monitoring progress, achieving milestones and analyzing data to ensure follow-through from key players
Negotiate and manage contracts: Develop complex, often multi-year incentive-based contracts with new suppliers; Renegotiate existing contracts
Drive Outcomes: Focus on delivering results, your initiatives and strategies directly contribute to our mission, demonstrating your leadership through the impact of your work.
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Operations experience; OR
Masters degree and 4 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Operations experience; OR
Bachelors degree and 6 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Operations experience; OR
Associates degree and 10 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Operations experience; OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Operations experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Supplier Selection, Negotiation and/or Buying Outside Spend experience
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Strong leadership skills
Ability to take initiative and work with a minimum level of direction in a fast paced environment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead projects and work with cross-functional teams
Experience with workday strategic sourcing or other e-Sourcing tools

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
