The Business Development Senior Manager – Global Litigation & Trial is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the Litigation & Trial Department strategic plan in concert with the Business Development Director - Global Litigation & Trial, Business Development (“BD”) team, and colleagues from other professional services departments, while serving as a super connector within and for the department across practices, geographies, and industries. This role will be located in our Washington, DC, New York, or downtown Los Angeles office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of practice and industry expertise, client relationships, and operates as a marketing/Business Development strategic advisor to department leadership, Litigation BD team members, and local/regional BD teams
- Assisting the department and practice group leadership vis-à-vis assigned BD team with developing, managing, and executing client retention and cross-selling programs
- Supporting and inputting into broader client engagement activities including thought leadership creation, events, continuing legal education (“CLE”), and other value-add activities
- Mastering a deep knowledge of firm organizational structure and engaging other verticals as appropriate to provide top quality client service
- Promoting the firm's values and culture, leading by example, and working for the good of the whole
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Possess the ability to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude
- Exhibit knowledge of core marketing principals including internal communications, public relations, seminar/event planning, branding, market research, competitive intelligence, credentials, and request for proposal (“RFP”) response preparation
- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management
And have:
- A Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible Business Development and marketing experience in a legal or professional services environment
- A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/management experience
