About the Role:
Maxar is seeking a Solutions Architect to join Maxar’s US Government Team. You will be a subject matter expert among a team of innovation professionals and will interact across C-suite and senior government and military officials, industry, as well as internally across Maxar regions and business units. The Solutions Architect for US Government will be a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of being a technical leader and SME, innovative thinker, and value generator. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, sophisticated business and technical acumen, and the ability to drive the development and successful market launch of both established and new offerings across disparate customers globally. This role will succeed via enablement and direction from the US leadership team and be based in Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Enable US Government technical sales activity by designing and developing solutions through pre-sales engagements with customers and early prototyping.
  • Rigorous technical and solutions qualification of innovation projects and sales opportunities focusing resources on those opportunities/projects which differentiate in the marketplace.
  • Develop and deploy unique technology solutions as proofs-of-concept.
  • Develop and present innovative, scalable, and cost-effective solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Continually assess product quality, release readiness, and maintain existing Maxar solutions.
  • Interact directly with customers and their technical experts to review, understand, and gather requirements and convey those technical requirements to Maxar internal teams
  • Articulate and clearly communicate with multiple Maxar stakeholders and leaders with consistency and integrity.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and government regulations.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline (Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering)
  • 7 or more years of enterprise experience in relevant technical and business fields in remote sensing, defense, and intelligence or geospatial industry.
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Results-oriented team player with a demonstrated high level of integrity.
  • Demonstrates creativity in developing winning solutions.
  • Works well in a dynamic environment where some of the parameters are unknown and change is a given.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant technologies, products, services, and methods.
  • Excellent industry and market awareness.
  • Experience with developing product demonstrations and proofs of concept to showcase the capabilities and benefits of our solution to potential customers.
  • Able to travel, averaging about 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within the Earth Imagery, Derivatives, and/or Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning markets highly desired.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Synthetic Aperture Radar and Machine Learning
  • Able to analyze customer requirements and perform geospatial feasibility studies using tools such as Excel, ArcGIS, and MATLAB
  • Software development experience (e.g., JavaScript, Python, API Development, Database Management)
Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$115,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually.
Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
