Job Description
Solder Repair performs repairs where the use of solder a soldering iron is involved. This includes the repair, upgrade, and modification of circuit boards, harnesses, custom test equipment, Create LED products, and other solder work as required. Most of the work will be Surface Mount Technology. When not soldering (and with additional training) this position also serves as a Service Repair Technician responsible for the functional testing, troubleshooting, upgrade, modification, cleaning, calibration, and repair of equipment.
Qualifications Below:
1. Performs Surface Mount Solder Repairs on a variety of equipment as assigned by the Service Manager.
2. With additional training, performs repairs on Create LED products.
3. Receives regularly scheduled, high priority, and inspection service work orders from the Service Repair Manager
4. Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, cleaning, calibrating, and replacing faulty components.
5. Operates common electronic test equipment and utilizes software test and repair applications to effect repairs
6. Utilizes available ESD devices (smock I wrist strap I shoe strap) to ensure an ESD safe work environment and to protect equipment
7. Documents the parts and materials utilized for each repair service request.
8. For Service or Repair actions exceeding pre-established cost limits on a product, contact the customer to ascertain repair unit exchange return options.
9. Fabricate parts as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
10. Reports corrective actions taken to the Lead Technician Service Repair Manager.
11. On an as needed basis, work on the Production Line in support of large or high priority production sales orders.
