What is the SolarCorps Fellowship Program…
GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps Fellowship Program is an opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join GRID Alternatives for a 6-month paid service term (approx. $17,600 total + benefits). In this position, you’ll gain valuable experience in the renewable energy and non-profit industries while making significant contributions to communities most impacted by environmental and economic injustice!

The Opportunity...
- In partnership with program staff, conduct a Capacity Needs Assessment and develop a program-specific action plan
- Support staff to identify, develop, and foster partnerships to increase outreach to potential SolarCorps members
- Assist in developing marketing materials for recruitment purposes, including building social media presence
- Ensure the program’s service opportunities are posted on the Americorps platform and similar platforms
- Provide follow up information or support to potential candidates or applicants in the pipeline
- Attend and actively participate in California Volunteers’ hosted Recruitment Capacity Member Meetings and Initiatives
- Shadow and participate in member service activities to learn about the SolarCorps program and develop relationships with fellow members.
- Engage current members in the program by creating monthly AmeriCorps newsletters and planning and hosting team-building activities.
- Implement strategies to keep AmeriCorps Alumni engaged in promoting national service.
- Participate in regular meetings with program staff to set goals and touch base on progress toward target outcomes.
- Must be 18 years or older
- 6-month commitment and complete 900 hours of service
- Strong computer skills
- To be eligible for AmeriCorps, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident alien of the United States.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively
- Comfortable being part of a team
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
- Interest in and enthusiasm for renewable energy, community development, green jobs and/or helping families and communities
- When working remotely, you must have access to reliable internet. GRID will provide a laptop, charger, and headset when remote working is required.

- $17,600 stipend for 6 months (Friday, March 1st, 2023 - Thurs August 15, 2024)
- Segal Americorps Education Award of $3,697.50 upon successful completion of fellowship

California Locations: hired candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.
