ABOUT THE ROLE
The Commissioning Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the project commissioning execution plans and schedule updates. The Testing and commissioning Manager will coordinate site-specific Commissioning plans with the Sr Testing and Commissioning Manager, Cx field superintendents, construction managers, site safety manager, project managers, field engineers, and mechanical and electrical superintendents.
The Testing and commissioning Manager shall report to the Sr Testing and Commissioning Manager. This position is home-based but may require 50% or more travel based on MYRE project needs.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and provide weekly commissioning status report to the Sr Testing and Commissioning Mgr, project manager, and project client
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with Construction and Field Commissioning Superintendents
  • Participate, as needed, in project specific meetings such as kick-off meetings, sub-contractor meetings, and weekly progress and schedule update meetings
  • Ensure, through mentoring, training, and auditing, that Field Commissioning Superintendents, electrical superintendents and QA/QC representatives understand and apply the standards set forth in the Client project specific contract documentation, MYRE and OEM equipment supplier commissioning requirements
  • Coordinate with the Senior Testing and Commissioning Manager and project manager as needed to collect required documentation for all major project milestones (MC, SC, EBF, SYNCH, COD, & project closeout)
  • Coordinate with the field construction staff regarding concerns with completion walkdowns, handover of start-up packages, and the development and closeout of all punch list items
  • Ensure successful tests, including practice testing and the review and approve all commissioning test documents
  • Coordinate with the Senior Testing and Commissioning Manager to build and complete the turnover documentation
  • Maintain commissioning log and collect data from every step of the commissioning process for every project
  • Analyze this data to evaluate contractor performance and to facilitate improvements to the quality and commission programs
  • Other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant operations and commissioning
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing commissioning activities on utility scale fossil fuel, and/or solar facilities, including SCADA/DAS system troubleshooting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil or Electric Engineering or related discipline; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Electric Journeyman's license preferred; comparable experience in power plant operations and commissioning considered in lieu of license
  • 10+ years of management experience is preferred
  • Experience with DCS, SCADA, fiber optic, PLC, and MODBUS communications
  • Commissioning experience in all disciplines on utility scale solar sites
  • Training certifications that can be accomplished within 90 days of employment: OSHA 30, CPR/BLS/First Aid, NFPA 70E

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of NETA, NERC, IEEE, NFPA70E, and industry prudent workmanship and test requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems and electrical safety for systems up to 1500VDC and 230KV AC
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Proven ability to manage Solar Commissioning teams
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols, renewables/electric utility P&C systems (relaying, communication, networking, RTU, SCADA, CT, PT), and planned outage management processes

  • Salary Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
