Job description

The School of Science & Agriculture at Missouri Valley College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Biology to begin August 2024. This position is a full-time, renewable, and non-tenure track appointment.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

Must be able to teach Botany, Dendrology, and Plant Taxonomy. Teaching entry level courses like Principles of Biology, and non-laboratory courses such as Environmental Science, is also expected.

Faculty members are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, values, and goals of the college.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Botany, Plant Sciences, Plant Physiology, or related field with at least 18 graduate credits in Biology required.

Ph.D. in Botany or related field is preferred.

College-level teaching experience preferred.

Collegiality, professionalism, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the college mission are also necessary qualifications.
