Software Test Engineer

Velos is seeking a Software Test Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) support services to the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) providing solutions for a large, data-intensive, operational ground system.

This position is onsite in Chantilly, VA with no opportunity for telework.

Essential job functions will include but are not limited to:

• Support planning and execution of requirements verification testing
• Support development and coordination of test requirements for new contracts and/or contract mods
• Monitor the use of plans for system testing and test procedures
• Provide testing expertise for integration of system elements and integrated systems testing
• Develop test documentation
• Observe Software Test and coordinate inputs / outputs
• Uncover and report discrepancies, assess impacts, and make recommendations on workarounds and fixes to ensure requirement verification

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience supporting testing and software requirements sell-off processes
• Proven knowledge of testing principles, Software Testing, and analysis
• Proven experience in agile software development and test
• Ability and willingness to work with Test Engineers as well as other technical and non-technical personnel
• Understanding or experience working in a SETA role / environment
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across the team and other organizations
• Ability to manage and priorities competing requirements
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science with focus on software development and design, electrical engineering or related technical discipline

Clearance Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
