This leader will focus on execution of electrical launch processes across the enterprise to ensure all standards are upheld. This position will work cross collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure SW in vehicles exceeds customer expectations. The goal is to enhance productivity, reduce inefficiencies, and improve overall organizational effectiveness.
The Role
- Support the reduction of software issues reaching the plant and customers
- Be a leader of the Global Electrical Support Team (GEST) – an integrated, technical organization consisting of members of various backgrounds across Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Product Development, and IT organizations focusing on electrical manufacturing performance in order to inspire customer confidence in GM’s vehicles
- 75% travel, often with little notice
- Lead a team highly technical salary employees
- Proactively protect the customer from electrical defects
- Support plant launch electrical teams’ drive to manufacturing metrics (E-FTQ and electrical warranty on BPD L0/1) and other launch milestones amid EV launch pull aheads
- Support Lead Launch Electrical Coordinators and leverage problem solving and lessons learned from plant to plant and Engineering. Establish and drive process for sharing lessons learned and updating standards.
- Collaborate with Service organization as one team to define and verify service and repair procedures to work for the manufacturing sites and field
- Contribute expertise to the GM Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC) training program curriculum development where applicable
- Manage a roughly $300K department travel and operations budget
- Take responsibility for objectives on Global Electrical Level 1 Business Plan Deployment (BPD) and drive team’s goals through Level 2 BPD
- Find creative ideas to improve electrical launch execution and electrical quality performance
- You will participate in the selection of new employees
- Train, develop and evaluate employees
- Establish overall group objectives
- Evaluate processes and procedures within area
- Develop long-range plans for improvements of processes and manufacturing activities
- Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group
- Provide technical assistance to maintain manufacturing performance
- Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years Manufacturing-related experience
- 5+ years Vehicle electrical systems manufacturing processes and repair experience
- Leadership experience
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, in relation to translating complex technical issues to non-technical people and Senior Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results by setting clear goals and objectives, measuring performance, and providing guidance and direction
