We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager who has a track record of leading, designing and developing complex web and data applications. As a key member of HealthMark’s Software Engineering team you will be managing development teams and be the lead technical expert for a product line. You will serve as a technical leader, able to discuss data structures, new technologies, and new methods of achieving system goals. You will also provide servant leadership to your team, removing roadblocks, coaching and mentoring as needed, facilitating collaboration with internal customers, and helping your team to succeed.
The Software Engineer Manager must be able to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of delivery, excellent Software Engineering, and excellent mentoring skills. Creative engineering balanced with high quality and a team focus. Must be able to work across multiple facets of the project and juggle multiple responsibilities at the same time. Strong analytic capability, the ability to design innovative solutions, and a penchant for creative problem solving. HealthMark Group is building the next generation of software for digital health information, including patient engagement and patient records. We focus on reducing the overall administrative burden of healthcare patient data journeys.
PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing and leading a software development team(s)
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach software engineers at different levels of experience
- Manage and support the software development lifecycle of new and existing web and data applications in collaboration with Product teams
- Maintaining and drive enhancing a CI/CD DevOps pipeline to include and improve source code versioning, automated testing (unit and functional), and automated deployments
- Drive application security improvement through security reviews, static and dynamic code analysis, and security scanning.
- Ensure engineering best practices like code reviews, pairing, refactoring, and automated unit testing practices are in place and improve code quality
- Contribute to system architecture, research new technologies
- Support Development teams in designing loosely coupled, highly cohesive software components following SOLID software design principles
- Be a persistent, creative problem solver
- Own all operational metrics and production support for your teams’ software
- Maintaining an eye towards security, scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Participating in a mostly remote results driven working environment
- Designing intuitive and easy to use user interfaces
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of professional software development experience in a Microsoft stack
- SQL Server tables and stored procedures
- C# MVC and APIs
- .NET Core
- Experience mentoring young software developers
- Experience building complex web and data systems that have been successfully delivered to end users
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Strong understanding of design and architectural patterns
- Understanding fundamental design principles of a scalable application
- Proficient understanding of code versioning and CI/CD tools
- Proficient understanding of developing software in the cloud (preferably in AWS)
- Experience with managing Agile software development teams (Scrum and/or SAFe)
- Results Oriented
