Description
Agile is seeking an intern to join our Software Engineering team to develop Agile's internal software tools, which support all aspects of Agile's operations from engine design and testing to additive manufacturing. The intern will work closely with the team to develop new tools used by Agile's engineers and technicians in developing the next generation of propulsion systems for satellites, lunar landers, and more.
The internship will include full ownership of a software development project, from requirements definition to design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Specific projects will be determined based on the intern's interests and skills, but may include:
- Development of a user interface for visualization and exploratory analysis of high-speed test data from Agile's state of the art rocket engine test stands
- Development of a live data streaming system for monitoring test data and video feeds from engine hot fire tests in real time
- Development of a backend data pipeline for processing, automated analysis, and storage of test data
- Development of a web-based monitoring tool and computer vision-based anomaly detection system for Agile's additive manufacturing operations
Basic Qualifications
- Enrolled in a bachelor's degree or graduate program in computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Go
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing and deploying software that has been used on real-world applications
- Strong understanding of Software Engineering principles and best practices including requirements definition, system design, version control, and documentation
- Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
- Experience with web development, including frontend, backend, and/or database development
- Experience building reactive user interfaces using a framework such as React, Vue, or Angular
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly and independently, and adapt to changing requirements
Employment Type: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $21 - $25/hr
Students joining Agile through our internship program will receive the opportunity to attend presentations from company leaders, social and networking events, as well as professional and personal development trainings. Interns are also eligible for paid company holidays. Agile offers 10 paid holidays per year.
