Job Summary:
The ideal candidates will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic intern level programmers able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the Raytheon Technologies team.
Software Interns work on a variety satellite ground system software and related software projects. Some previous activities in these positions have involved developing software algorithms, modeling complex systems, simulating systems to understand mission performance, performing system trade studies, improving software efficiency, and developing software products as part of an Agile software development team.
This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post-Graduate based on the based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below:

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

- (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
- (Senior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
- (Post-Graduate Technical Intern)- must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a Junior, Senior or Post-Graduate by the start of Summer 2024 in Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
- Proficiency in Java and/or C++ computer programming language on a Unix/Linux platform
- Experience using software development tools like Eclipse, Jira, Junit, and Git
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design, and Programming
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to produce deliverable products
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python, Bash, or Perl
- Understanding of Software Engineering processes and best practices.
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience working with applications in the AWS Cloud
- Experience with microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in satellite ground system software and related technologies such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, and flight dynamics models.
