Work Type: Hybrid - But will be required to come to St Pete from time to time when it makes sense for team get togethers/Collaboration (Florida based candidates are preferred)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Pole Star Defense are looking for Senior Software Developers to join our growing development team and be at the forefront of our company’s innovations and designs. In this role, you will develop and implement new software systems in an agile DevSecOps environment. To ensure success as a Software Developer, strong knowledge of programming languages and development frameworks and ability to work alone and as part of a wider technical team is key.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designing new software programs, websites, and applications (coding, testing, debugging, and analytics)
- Writing advanced programming code
- Reviewing updated software systems
- Managing project timelines and tasks
- Writing development reports
- Creating technical documents for new software programs
- Training staff on software use
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong knowledge of programming languages including Java, Spring, Docker, SQL, NOSQL
- Knowledge of system frameworks including .NET, Git, AngluarJS, and GitHub
- Experience working with Agile development technologies
- AWS Exposure (CDK/Cloud formation) or similar IAC tools (i.e. Terraform)
- Strong interpersonal skills
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or relevant work experience
DESIRED SKILLS (Not Required):
- Experience working with DHS or DoD
- Experience with MongoDB
- AWS Certifification
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Ability for up to 10% travel both domestic and international.

WORK SCHEDULE NOTE: While this position is scheduled for a traditional Monday – Friday work week, our systems run 24/7/365 and as such, you may be expected to perform out of hours, on-call support on an as needed basis. This may include weekends and/or holidays and is worked on a rotation system with other team members. Additional compensation may be available for working on-call, standby or holiday hours.
This is a Public Trust position and requires completion of a State and Federal Criminal History Report (i.e., background check) and may require a Department of Defense security clearance. Current and future employment will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of both the FBI Summary History Report and if designated, a DoD security clearance.
