About The Internship:
During your days at ROI Solutions, you will gain exposure to the current development process, collaborate with different teams, receive mentorship from experienced developers. You will also participate in documentation, testing, code reviews, and meetings about the development process. This will be a good opportunity to learn and share your ideas.
- Begins the week of May 20th
- Lasts for 10-12 weeks
What You Will Learn:
As a intern at ROI, you will be able to contribute to our work to better support the nonprofit industry and interact with Product managers, Client Services, and Data managers.
- Nonprofit fundraising terminology and concepts
- Software development design and best practices
- Relational database concepts
- Cyber Security awareness
- Departmental overviews
- Basic SQL (Structured Query Language)
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or similar level skills through alternative route, or have other relevant education/experience.
- Willing to learn new technologies.
- Algorithms and object-oriented design.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming like Java or other modern languages.
- Working knowledge of web technologies.
- General knowledge of front-end languages (HTML/CSS, JavaScript).
- General knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to commute to our Medford, MA office preferred; part remote available.
Desired Skills:
- Back-end technologies: RESTful API concepts and microservices.
- Knowledge of GitLab or other similar tools.
- Self-learner with passion and follow-through.
- Interest in working in the nonprofit industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Good analytic and organizational skills.
- High level of accountability and integrity.
