Overview:
Our client is a biotechnology company focused on the digitization and discovery of novel therapeutic treatments. They are looking for a talented data engineer with the experience to lead their data infrastructure development. Their next generation platform transforms peptide manufacturing and therapeutic discovery through the utilization of robotics into a data rich process capable of leveraging machine learning for closed-loop iterative discovery. The development of this platform requires working on a cross-disciplinary team to combine state-of-the-art manufacturing and experimentation with robust automated analytical techniques to provide unparalleled insights into the discovery of novel therapeutics. The client is an MIT-trained group of engineers, scientists, and business development professionals looking to implement a discovery platform leveraging current production data for peptide-based therapeutics.
What you will be doing:
- The development of all aspects of our data infrastructure, including data management, application development, visualization, tooling, and analytics.
- Provide the scientists and production systems with accessible, accurate, and responsive data to empower successful drug discovery.
- Design, implement, test, and optimize data systems, services, and tooling to evolve the capacity and accessibility of our high-volume data platform.
- Identify our end users’ data needs and build efficient and scalable data pipelines
- Create frameworks and services that will be used by others company engineers and data scientists
- Our stack: Python, Javascript, Vue.js, Postgres, DynamoDB, S3, EC2, PyTorch
What you must have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or 2+ years industry experience.
- Experience building APIs, databases, and front-end development.
- Expertise with AWS and cloud computing technologies.
- Experience with server-side web application development. Full-stack development experience preferred.
- Familiarity with current software development practices: version control, automated testing, continuous integration/continuous deployment.
- Strong work ethic and desire to work with a cross-disciplinary team that is excited to make a difference.
- Excellent communications skills, oral and written.
- Passion for continuous learning and commitment to excellence in execution.
