The NASC and NAPC Team Software Developer creates technical solutions that achieve business requirements necessary for the design and manufacture of today’s advanced products, including Automotive, Power Sports, and Power Equipment.
- Software code development for NASC and NAPC application projects that improve existing systems or implementation of new systems
- Code Development – Interprets business requirements to write software code that creates applications that conform to established IT best practices and guidelines while achieving the desired business function. Ensures the software code safely and securely interacts with other functions and applications and is well documented for future investigations and updates.
- Quality Assurance – Performs unit and integration testing of software to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient execution while minimizing computer hardware demands and not creating any hardware or OS instability. Implements monitoring, testing, reporting, and auditing of developed applications to measure quality.
- Involvement in software code management for applications developed for Cost or Manufacturing Accounting Systems
- Code Maintenance – Updates software code and patches libraries to address security vulnerabilities and stay current with OS and related application releases.
- Application Bugs – Troubleshoots and solves reported issues with production applications within service level agreement time frames to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components. Follows established configuration/change control processes to implement application fixes.
- Application Performance – Analyzes and resolves performance issues by coordinating with Enterprise IT Systems team members to diagnose and remediate operational limitations or gaps. Influences hardware and virtualization system design and configuration by providing requirements and optimal settings for assigned applications.
- Continue to learn new technologies and programing applications to find and check opportunities that maximize benefits for the PSCC and accounting business teams.
- Plan and schedule annual support and administration tasks in the NASC and NAPC systems domain.
- Work with Global Honda IT, NA Business Units and IT vendors to plan annual projects and task based on the unit’s application roadmap.
- Maintain application development roadmaps for NA users.
- Schedule and monitor application updates, system maintenance, annual support improvement initiatives.
- Prepare next period support and maintenance cost projections for select applications.
- Consult and coordinate with vendor contracted application support experts to ensure proper end user support.
- Work with other developers, business analyst, scrum master to create consistent deliverables.
- 0 - 2 years experience in IT systems related role.
- Familiarity with modern concepts such as microservices, container-based development, DevOps and cloud deployment.
- Fundamentals in software engineering
- Development using Java with Angular as a plus.
