Job Description:
The Software Asset Management Senior Analyst is an individual contributor role responsible for software license compliance management. This is facilitated via software usage optimization, including cost-avoidance, risk-avoidance, and increased usage flexibility. The person in this role will conduct detailed software usage and contract reviews as part of that optimization. They will also generate audit-readiness reporting and ensure that certification, audit, and usage reports are memorialized. Additionally, they will ensure that the discovery tools are performing accurately and timely.
Responsibilities include software licensing and inventory management, which requires an extensive understanding of licensing terms/metrics of vendors. Further, the Software Asset Management Manager will be responsible for managing the strategic partnership between the internal Software Owner and the ESM team, supporting future strategy and demand planning.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Required
- 5 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) license compliance management
- Knowledge and strong understanding of licensing terms\conditions\metrics from Publishers.
- Experience with highly complex license metrics and calculations.
- Strong knowledge of Software discovery tools i.e. (ADDM, SCCM, Altiris, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Software management tools i.e. (USU/Aspera, Flexera, SNOW, SAMPro)
- Experience working with software product owners within the spheres of strategic planning and lifecycle management.
Highly Desired
- Experience of supporting SAM functions within large, global organizations
- Experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) with cloud-based software including PaaS and SaaS framework.
- Exceptional organizational skills and capability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
- Extensive knowledge of software maintenance/subscription renewal/true-up/true-down process
- Advanced analytical skills using Excel and other analysis tools.
- Self-motivated, with excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Driver-mentality focused on transitioning strategy to implementation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication\presentation skills
- Ability to break down complex tasks and explain solutions.
- Experience with ServiceNow platform (Service Request, Contract and SAM functions)
- Experience with USU/Aspera SmartTrack
- Certifications in Software Asset Management
- Experience successfully prioritizing work within matrixed management organization.
Advanced in several IT Control and Project Management practices; experience in working across large environments.
Expert in application and infrastructure high availability and resiliency architectures
Proficient in the following:
- Risk and Control Assessments
- Control Remediation
- Resource Management
- Stakeholder Management
- Partnership and Influence
- Technology control domains including but not limited to policies and standards, risk and control assessments, access controls, regulatory compliance, technology resiliency, risk and control governance and metrics, incident management, secure systems development lifecycle, vulnerability management and data protection.
