Job Description:
As a Social Worker in the MMCC Youth & Family Services Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our young community members and staff. You will be at the forefront of crisis intervention and mental health support services. Your role will involve providing Social Emotional Learning and Violence Prevention leadership at our after school and summer programs. You will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team and be available to support over 3,000 youth and 700 staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for helping others, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide curriculum support to partner schools and programs in the areas of leadership, violence prevention and social emotional learning.
- Work directly with Community Schools ensuring support throughout the school day
- Work closely with After School programs to provide mental health education and crisis support.
- Provide evidence-based group counseling services and crisis intervention to participants, using a variety of therapeutic techniques.
- Provide behavior management and individualized supports for after school participants, campers, and lead communication with families
- Advise about interventions to address crisis-related symptoms and concerns.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to provide necessary supports
- Contribute to the development and implementation of program initiatives to improve trauma informed and social emotional services
- Provide direct leadership, instruction in restorative groups and prevention discussions.
- Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards in working with youth and their families.
Qualifications:
- Background in working with youth
- Completion of a bachelor or master’s level program
- Prior experience in a community agency, a plus
- Strong mediation skills.
- Knowledge of interventions and referral options
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and confidentiality.
- Cultural competence and the ability to work with a diverse client population.
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday, day shift, 8-hour shift
Annual Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
· $57,000- $60,000 (bachelor’s in social work)
· $61,000- $65,000 (MSW)
· $66,000- $70,000 (LMSW)
