Head Start has an opening for a full-time Social Worker working 35 hours per week. Responsible for providing social work services to students, staff, and families to resolve social and emotional problems that interfere with learning. Serve as a Social Worker for mental health and wellness for students, families, and staff. Manage training and education for staff and program families. Ensure that staff are completing the required documentation for mental health for the children and families. Will require travel to LHDC Head Start locations on an as needed basis or as directed by Head Start Birth-5 Director. May require some out-of-town travel for training or conferences. The position is part of the LHDC Head Start Birth-5 program and is funded through a three-year Early Learning Initiative grant.
Requirements:A graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field required. Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field and eligible to be certified or licensed in Indiana preferred.
Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical and complete an annual T.B. test.
