You will serve as a vital part of the marketing team, contributing to the overall Social Media strategy for AKC, creating video and graphical content, developing social content concepts and creative briefs, as well as collaborating across departments. You are an experienced social producer who specializes in creating audience-first, compelling programming across various Social Media platforms, and can balance multiple projects while engaging directly with our constituents in meaningful ways to drive results!
- This is a hybrid position requiring onsite in our NYC office.
Primary Job Duties
- Responsible for creating engaging short-form videos and graphics that fit the unique strengths and capabilities of each social platform (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok).
- Own the day-to-day content strategy and assist the Social Media manager in developing new original concepts for engaging content that fit our overall marketing goals.
- Identify & ideate against real-time content opportunities based off of platform analytics to continually innovate with our growing consumer base of dog lovers.
- Write compelling Social Media copy and schedule content in accordance with the overall content calendar.
- Successfully manage numerous Social Media video projects with limited oversight and overlapping deadlines including but not limited to — writing creative briefs, storyboards, scheduling shoots, filming, and editing content.
- Review our current video assets and determine how they can be re-purposed and used in future/new content opportunities.
- Adhere to editorial best practices for the brand, including tone, voice, style guide, fact-checking, photography/video standards.
- Ensure that video content is QA-checked for grammatical errors, audio/video issues, exported in the right formats, and any other issues prior to publishing.
- Proficient knowledge in the full video production process and its best practices.
Required Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Competency Requirements
- Experience editing, finishing, and color grading in Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer.
- Light understanding of Adobe After Effects and motion graphics is a huge plus.
- Strong understanding of Social Media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, Threads etc.).
- Familiarity with social monitoring and publishing tools (Sprout Social, Dash Hudson) is a plus.
- Experience gathering and interpreting Social Media metrics, using native platforms and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work both independently without direct supervision and approvals, and as a supportive member of the broader team.
- Experience with dogs (from a sport or pet perspective) is a plus.
The salary range for this position in New York City is $71,000 - $80,000/year; however salary offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better in Marketing or related field
