We started Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in a yellow truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 with a mission to make good ice cream that makes you feel good.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Social Media Manager, based out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to work closely with the founding team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of major growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is creative, strategic and organized, is passionate about the Van Leeuwen brand, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).

The Social Media Manager will play an active role in the development of Van Leeuwen's online community. Under the supervision of the Marketing Director and in partnership with the Graphic Designer, the Social Media Manager will lead strategy, distribution and ongoing maintenance across all social platforms and e-mail.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media

  • Create 30/60/90 day content calendar for each platform that aligns with the marketing objectives
  • Maintain brand story and voice through copywriting to ensure consistency across all Social Media platforms
  • Officially launch the brand's TikTok channel with relevant and consistent content
  • Work with in-house designer to expand upon existing Brand Visual ID and develop content to support marketing initiatives and brand launches
  • Create video content for social platforms to supplement the designed content
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends, best-in-class practices, platform rules, and competitor activity across all digital platforms
  • Manage customer interactions on Social Media platforms with strict response timing, while collaborating with key stakeholders to escalate trending and large scale scenarios when appropriate
  • Respond to comments, when appropriate, in order to foster a positive community and add value to the user's experience; engaging audiences and developing conversations

Influencer Management

  • Oversee relationships with influencers and celebrities
  • Management of Social & Digital Coordinator

E-mail

  • Create email calendar and develop strategies for each email channel
  • Work with the in-house designer to design email content

Analytics, Reporting & Research

  • Utilize social listening tools and leverage analytics to review performance data on Social Media and digital platforms
  • Develop KPIs for each platform, with a clear path to achieve and track against key benchmarks

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of experience managing Social Media platforms or communities for brands
  • Experience actively managing a brand or company's Social Media channels and digital campaigns
  • Thorough knowledge of the top Social Media networks (Facebook, X, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working collaboratively
  • Ability to deliver high quality work, quickly, in a dynamic organization
  • Knowledge & understanding of social tactics and latest trends
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Must be highly motivated, have a positive demeanor, be a team player, proactive self-starter, and excellent communicator
  • Experience with Canva, Photoshop & Illustrator a plus

Salary Range

$70,000—$95,000 USD
