Social Media Manager

SUMMARY:
Asia Society Policy Institute is looking for a Social Media Manager to manage the think tank’s Social Media and assist with e-marketing. This includes owning and growing ASPI’s Social Media platforms; packaging ASPI’s written, video, and multimedia assets for promotion; and working with ASPI’s policy experts to grow their Social Media presences. This candidate must be a strong writer and know the basics of creating video, graphic, and other social content. We are looking for candidates who love the idea of translating wonky policy papers to social content, follow and participate in foreign policy conversations online, and are obsessed with details and getting things right. Most importantly, you’re passionate about what the Asia Society Policy Institute does.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the Social Media presence for Asia Society Policy Institute, including Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, and/or YouTube; as well as creating new profiles as appropriate for the promotion of Asia Society Policy Institute’s work
- Assisting with production of social content including videos and graphics
- Helping maintain Asia Society Policy Institute’s email marketing calendar with drafting publication and event blasts for review
- Tracking Social Media asks from expert team in project management software
- Working with ASPI experts on content, promote their work on ASPI’s social channels, and help make them “policy influencers” on social
- Regularly staying abreast of changes in the Social Media ecosystem and offering new ideas for how we can leverage Social Media better to achieve ASPI’s goals
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
· You are an excellent writer and copy editor, with experience writing about policy issues for Social Media.
· You can create social videos, graphics using Canva, and other basic content, and like helping others get comfortable in front of the camera.
· You have 3 - 4 years of experience in progressively challenging roles.
· You realize a tweet is often just as important as the article, and you write accordingly.
· You are a proven self-motivated, self-sufficient, self-starter.
· You are a team player, and you are excited about working closely with a diverse group of passionate colleagues.
· Other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $63,500 - $66,000
Compensation within this range is determined by skills, experience, and organizational equity.
