Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Engagement, the Social Media Manager plans, creates, manages, implements, and evaluates the Social Media marketing for the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership. The successful candidate will create original text and video content, manage posts, and respond to followers in a manner that upholds the CHDP brand.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g., original text, photos, videos, and news)
- Monitor followers and respond to reviews, when necessary
- Oversee Social Media accounts’ design (e.g. cover images, profile pictures, and layouts) to ensure brand consistency
- Graphic design, photography
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in Social Media, design tools, and applications
Other Responsibilities
- Data and metrics analysis
- Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
- Define the most important Social Media KPIs
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of best practices for Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Tik Tok)
- Strong organizational skills
- Creativity and ability to identify stand-out trends
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required
- Passionate about making Downtown Chapel Hill a more interesting place
