Rescue is a full-service marketing agency with a mission to make healthy behaviors easier and more appealing. Since our founding in 2001, Rescue has been exclusively focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, Social Media, policy change, youth engagement and experiential marketing services to government, non-profit, and healthcare clients in over 35 states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies.
Rescue’s health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as tobacco, obesity, substance and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, eating healthy foods, early childhood development, and after school programs; and other topics that promote healthy living. Rescue’s behavior change campaigns focus on diverse populations within teen (13 - 17), young adult (18 - 26), and adult (18+) populations in both rural and urban areas, resulting in a wide variety of campaign styles and strategies.

The Job
We are looking for a dynamic, high performing Social Media Management Intern to gain hands-on experience in Social Media marketing and online community management. The ideal candidate has a passion for behavior change, a history of excelling in previous roles, and is capable of working in a fast-paced agency environment.
Day-To-Day Activities:
- Work with the Social Media Manager to collect culturally relevant content for each of Rescue’s social brands on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram;
- Write creative copy and other communication materials for Social Media;
- Research digital trends and the online behaviors of specific target audiences;
- Work closely with the Strategy & Communications Team and Social Media Manager to respond to comments on Social Media, both positive and negative;
- Pull post-campaign user comments and work with the Marketing Analytics team to discuss engagement learnings for client reports;
- Assist Social Media Managers in sourcing content for monthly media email newsletters
- Track Social Media performance across multiple platforms and provide insights into what works best.
- High School Diploma or GED;
- A strong interest in Social Media marketing;
- First-hand experience using Social Media for professional efforts, specifically Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and/or Snapchat;
- An eye for design and basic experience creating visual content (i.e. Canva);
- Working in a fast-paced environment;
- Consistent schedule and availability.
- An academic background or strong interest in public health, health communications or policy change efforts;
- An academic background or strong interest in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, creative writing, and/or Social Media;
- Non-tobacco-use is highly preferred because we maintain tobacco-free environments and for consistency with our tobacco prevention campaign goals.

Pay Range: $18-$18 per hour. Actual compensation is dependent upon a combination of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, level of education, and location.

Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars.
