Job Summary
About the role:
Our rapidly growing and newly reopened, California-based, hair salon franchise, is looking for a technically inclined, passionate, and eager-to-learn member to join our team. The Social Media Intern will be an invaluable asset to our franchise and small team.
The ideal candidate will be dedicated, self-starting, and eager to learn the ins and outs of Social Media Marketing in a non-stress environment. Through this process, they will have the opportunity to develop their skills in Social Media, SEO, and Digital Marketing and will be part of helping give small businesses a much-deserved online identity. They will enhance their skills in order to be able to strategize and optimize each digital asset for branding, SEO, conversion optimization, and user experience to help small businesses grow.
General Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be able to utilize Social Media to create a brand voice and presence for our franchise and each of the stylists they work with. They will be responsible for communicating the client experience, amazing hair trends and styles and messaging through design and branding and will work closely with the franchise owners to execute our vision.
Responsibilities
Facebook/Google Advertising Management
Write copy and design graphics for a variety of different Social Media including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram for now and possibly Pinterest in the future.
Develop and embody the necessary tone, brand persona, and business goals for the franchise
Write for various audiences, while thinking critically about their needs.
Craft compelling narratives that drive engagement and action
Research brand history, competition, and similar writing genres to emulate successful tactics, while offering a fresh, unique perspective
Work in conjunction with the franchise ownership team to ensure all messages align with brand and purpose
Content Creation
Plan, write and finalize excellent, persuasive content for our franchise according to tasks assigned by the owner and our creative team that generates interest and drives client engagement
Search engine optimize all content before publishing
Publish content using provided software
Design graphics and write persuasive copy for Social Media for many different types of clientele.
Content Management
Plan, write and execute content creation strategy for posts, stories, etc. in order to optimize SEO and generate leads.
Job Qualifications
Candidate Requirements
Avid self-learner with a passion for the digital marketing industry and Social Media specifically. Experience working with Meta Business Suite, Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, and Canva preferred
Strong writing and communication skills
Excellent time management and prioritization skills to meet small but obtainable goals each week
Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently without sacrificing quality
Ability to work independently and problem solve while participating in a team environment
Current student or free lancer seeking to build portfolio preferred

Education is our number one value. This position will help you sharpen your existing writing skills as it applies to persuasive copy in various digital formats. You will gain a deeper understanding of Social Media Management, Search Engine Optimization, and how to drive audience engagement for key audiences which ultimately we can measure financial impact to the salon.
Each of the different formats of writing (for websites, social, ads, etc.) and the stylistic and strategic choices that will effectively carry your message using SEO
