Job Summary

PSEG Long Island is seeking an experienced Social Media content specialist to join its team. The Social Media content specialist will leverage their expertise in social trends and Social Media best practices to take PSEG Long Island’s digital presence to the next level. The Social Media content specialist will be responsible for curating content that fosters relationships, amplifies our brand, and educates our audiences to drive awareness and engagement.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and executing compelling social and digital content campaigns that resonates with target audiences and aligns with our brand identity and business objectives. This includes Social Media campaigns across all existing and emerging platforms, posting and driving content to the blog, and updating the external website and internal SharePoint website as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Create and manage owned and paid Social Media campaigns and strategies that drive user engagement build customer relationships and increase brand awareness across all existing and emerging platforms including but not limited to Instagram Facebook X YouTube TikTok and LinkedIn
    • Work closely with internal clients across the company to understand their budget objectives and feedback and incorporate them into the content creation processes
    • Write compelling and concise onbrand socialdigital copy that captures attention communicates key messages and encourages user interaction tailored for the target audience and target platform
    • Assist in the design and creation of graphics videos GIFs animations reels stories and other multimedia elements that effectively communicate messages uniquely tailored for the target audience and target platform and work in close partnership with the Digital Communications team to ensure all approvals deliverables and deadlines are met for creative assets
  • Manage PSEG Long Islands Social Media accounts daily digital content calendar and social marketing campaigns
  • Monitor social listening for all channels amplifying and engaging with earned content as appropriate as well as responding to brand comments when appropriate not customer service focused comments
  • Execute onsite and live storytelling at various local events announcements company meetings and more
  • Create and post storm  emergency messaging that may require weekends and afterhours work and onsite and live storytelling
  • Serve as lead writer and editor of PluggedIn PSEG Long Islands blog
  • Assist the Manager of Content Creation and Social Media in updating external website copy and digital content as well as the internal SharePoint website

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Media, Communications, Marketing or other related field, plus a minimum of 3 years related work experience.
    • In lieu of degree 5 years related work expereince and one or more relevant Social Media/digital certifications, e.g. HubSpot, Hootsuite, Boot Camp or college/university digital certificaiton.
  • Minimum 1 year working in a Social Media role executing strategy, posting/tweeting daily, two-way communications with customers and reporting/analyzing
  • Understanding of Social Media and digital strategy.   Highly collaborative, results-oriented individual with demonstrated experience creating and delivering Social Media campaigns. 
  • Must be a self-starter, able manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well within tight deadlines in a fast-turnaround environment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident, strategic thinker
  • Strong creativity, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfort working with executive stakeholders 
  • Understanding of Social Media employee advocacy programs
  • Understanding of digital marketing solutions including: digital advertising, web and mobile sites, Social Media, SEO & SEM, digital media, and analytics
  • Understanding of analysis and evaluation of Social Media campaigns and advertising, and translating and reporting on the results
  • Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms, including Facebook Insights, YouTube Insights, Twitter analytics, LinkedIn analytics, Google Analytics, as well as publishing tools such as Sprinklr, WordPress
