JOB SUMMARY

The Part-Time Tour Guide (seasonal) will create a fun and engaging experience for our guests. Tour Guides are responsible for leading trips in a Slingshot and providing safety and exceptional customer service to guests during the Slingshot adventure tour.

Tour Guides operate under limited supervision; they run tours, and are responsible for program preparation, delivery, and reporting, managing program logistics, assessing and mitigating risks, and providing on-site incident management.

Tour Guides provide exceptional customer service and high hospitality and personalization while exercising sound judgment and maintaining group safety to exceed guest expectations. Guides model and act by NASR’s guiding values and mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guide up to 10 Slingshots/guests on an adventurous tour in a Slingshot; understanding and implementing risk-reduction in navigation, communication, and decision-making
• Guide at least 1 evening program a month, while having fun and creating an engaging experience for guests
• Guide at least 1 daytime program a month, while having fun and creating an engaging experience for guests
• Communicate with guests about safety, trip information, NASR rentals, and providing general entertainment
• Provide top-notch guest service to all guests, before, after, and during their trip
• Ensure guests safety as top priority.
• Participate in non-driving tasks, including assisting with check-in, assisting guests with helmets and radios, delivering instructional talks, and washing and organizing helmets and vehicles
• Other tasks as assigned, such as (but not limited to): fueling vehicles, repair and maintenance of equipment, guest check-in, etc.
• Greet and support guests
• Ability to conduct safety orientation of vehicles
• Ability to adhere to all state local traffic laws
• ability to work in a team environment
• Must perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection
• Ability to troubleshoot vehicle dashboard indicators
• Wash and prep inventory at completion of tour

QUALIFICATIONS

• Effective communication skills
• A strong sense of guest service
• Accountability for one's actions and performance
• Enthusiasm about driving a Slingshot and sharing outdoor activities with others
• The ability to take direction from supervisors
• Good judgment in decision-making
• The ability to work well under pressure and be able to respond quickly to emergencies with appropriate judgment
• A can-do attitude and ability to work in a teamwork-based environment
• The ability to speak clearly and with authority while guiding
• One year experience in guest or customer service and/or an informal educational setting preferred
• Must pass background check
• Must pass drug screening
• Must be able to work flexible hours - including weekends and evenings - not to exceed 30 hours per week
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no citations within the past 24 months
• Must be punctual
• Bilingual preferred
